In addition, we offer a complete in house manufacturing service for steel, and steel and carbide assemblies, as well as being able to machine high precision silicon carbide, ceramic and pure tungsten components. Our specialist capabilities also include an in-depth knowledge of aerospace, high speed packaging, food processing,
oil industry and automotive sectors, as well as extensive experience in the powder compaction, and fastener, tooling industries.

This often enables KWI Grinding to meet customer requirements up to and beyond the scope of other carbide finish machining companies.

Qualities

KWI Grinding hold UKAS recognised ISO 9001:2000 approval. Our extensive range of QA facilities include shadowgraph projection equipment, optical flatness measuring equipment, surface finish and internal profile measuring equipment, an extensive range of inspection equipment and UV florescent flaw detection equipment. This enables us to maintain preferred approved supplier status to customers such as Federal Mogul Sintered Products and Sandvik Hard Materials.

Equipment

An extensive range of in house production equipment includes:
CNC spark erosion, CNC wire erosion, optical profile grinding, CNC turning, production honing, conventional milling and turning, induction brazing, shrinking furnace, centreless grinding and centreless finish polishing facilities, ring and tub grinding, (25" max) surface grinding and cutting, creep feed grinding, internal, external and universal machines set to grind steels and carbides, polishing, fitting and lapping.

These are backed by process capability studies that ensure manufacturing tolerances are typically maintained to less than 5 microns. All this is located at our 6000 sq ft manufacturing facility just 5 mins from Jn3 of the M6 in Coventry.

On time delivery is an important part of the service. In the ever increasing demand for shorter lead times and just in time deliveries, we offer blank and finished stock holding facilities. Due to our very wide range of machining services we can offer very quick turnaround times from our in-house stock of the more popular grades of carbide,
so reducing lead times considerably. We supply full component traceability supported by dimensional inspection reports if required. We even offer a rapid
response service to meet emergency deadlines. Its all part of KWI's continually improving commitment to total customer satisfaction.
